CARROT Weather is a crazy-powerful weather app that delivers hilariously twisted forecasts.
The snarky AI character known as CARROT makes the app fun and engaging, with mini-games to play, achievements to unlock, and thousands of lines of dialogue that change depending on weather conditions.
But CARROT Weather is also a professional-grade weather app with top-of-the-line features, from the notifications to the widgets to the multiple data sources to the insanely customizable user interface.

Version 5.0 Highlights
Version 5.0 is a complete redesign of CARROT Weather. It's been in development for nearly 2 years. Read the announcement post or check out the highlights below:
- New Look. CARROT’s fresh new design is cleaner, easier to navigate, and now uses native UI elements to make it fit in great alongside other iOS apps - but the app still retains the same sense of fun and personality that CARROT is so well known for.
- Cards. Cards surface interesting data that’s usually buried in other weather apps. Instead of having to go digging into details screens to find out exactly when and how much it’s going to rain, or if it’s going to get really windy this afternoon, or whether visibility will get bad overnight, all that important information is now front and center.
- Details Screens. Tap anywhere on the Weather tab to see an unparalleled level of detail. Hourly and daily graphs for every single data point, easy-to-read summaries for each day, moon phase charts, and more. There are even encyclopedia-style explanations for each data point so you can learn more about how the weather works.
- Interface Maker. Use Interface Maker to build the weather app of your dreams. Add new components, rearrange them, change their design, insert additional data points, and more. The system is incredibly flexible, allowing you to create entirely different designs to suit your exact needs. There's never been a more customizable weather app.
- Presets Gallery. Use Presets to quickly swap between different interface designs. There are six prebuilt options to choose from (including one that recreates the old v4 interface), but you can create your own and even share them with friends.
- New Content. 2,000 new lines of snarky weather dialogue, 8 new secret locations, 20 new achievements, 30 new alternate app icons, and a bunch of new Easter eggs. You’ll never have more fun checking the weather.
- New Business Model. CARROT Weather is switching from paid upfront to free with an optional subscription. The free version includes ads, but they’re either for fake products or for other indie apps. The latter are provided free of charge as CARROT's way of giving back to the awesome indie developer community. (It's possible ads may be sold directly at some future point, but users' information will never be sold or shared.)
Pricing
Version 5.0 moves CARROT Weather to a free with subscription business model. (The app was previously $4.99 up front plus an optional subscription, so not much has changed here other than the fact that users can now try CARROT for free before paying anything.)
There are three subscription levels:
- Premium ($4.99/month or $19.99/year) provides additional features like weather data sources, notifications, customization, widgets, and Apple Watch complications.
- Premium Ultra ($9.99/month or $39.99/year) includes all the features of Premium, plus rain, lightning, and storm cell notifications (where available), a weather maps widget, and quick data source switching.
- Premium Family ($14.99/month or $59.99/year) includes all the features of Premium Ultra, with the added benefit of being shareable with up to five family members via Apple’s Family Sharing service.
Existing customers get to keep all of the features from the original paid up front version of the app forever and they will also have their Premium Club pricing locked in.
